Here’s a masculine card that comes together quickly with the ‘By the Bay’ set (earned free during Sale a Bration.)
No coloring required…just stamp and simple layering to add richness and depth. The white frame was actually a scrap from some pieces cut with the ‘Stitched Rectangle Dies’ and layered next to the gray piece. The stitching on the die added more detail and a finished look.
You can’t see it very well in the photo so here’s a close up of an embossing folder used to add texture to the scene. It’s called ‘Subtle Impressions’ and turns ordinary paper into a linen textured piece.
Would love to hear what you think. And as always, if you have questions about joining Stampin’Up! or how to earn free items during Sale a Bration I am happy to answer them.
Go get your craft on and make some paper confections of your own. (then come back and share them, K?
With Valentine’s Day approaching love is in the air and the ‘Wonderful Romance Bundle’ was calling to me to create a card and put some love into it.
Die cut the leaf trellis on the long edge of the card base and back it with ‘Petal Pink’ cardstock to add a pop of color. To give the inside of the card a finished look Die cut and trim out another trellis piece and glue it over the pink strip with the leaves pointing inward.
On this card watercolor paper was used for all the images on the front of the card. Stamp in ‘Mossy Meadow’ ink and watercolor from there. Drag the stamped color to fill in images with a brush and bit of water. The same process was used on additional leaves. Flowers were colored with the ‘Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend’ markers.
After coloring the die cuts attach to the base card over the sentiment. You can create this card in either ‘Very Vanilla’ or ‘Whisper White.’ The sample was made on ‘Very Vanilla.’
You can add foliage die cut in vellum for a soft look around the sentiment.
Hope you love this romantic look. I welcome your comments and pictures of what you have created.
Happy to answer questions you may have. Just leave a message.
I am mesmerized by butterflies it seems and wanted to try out the ‘Beauty Abounds’ stamp set. I already had many pieces so with my supplies and the new stamp set I was able to put together a simple-to-make card together in a variety of colors.
You pretty much stamp, emboss, color then stack all the pieces in place….easy huh? One thing that will stretch your Butterfly Die set is to cut it apart and use the pieces separately. There are so many sizes and shapes of butterflies that could fit just about anywhere.
Have fun trying this set out, and if you have already made some cards using this set, show it off! Would love you see your paper confections.
I recently had knee surgery and so I had some time to catch up on You Tube crafting videos. I was inspired to take a stamp bundle I already had and made several cards with it….proving that purchasing a versatile stamp bundle really can stretch your crafting $$$.
One such bundle is the ‘Petal Pallet’ stamp set and coordinating ‘Petals and More’ die set. Black and white is so striking when used with spots of color and I chose that for this first set of cards. First stamp and die cut the images. Then use daubers to color them. Love the technique and result. It is simple and the process takes no time at all. Add some background dimension by embossing a white piece of cardstock and cut out with the ‘Stitched Rectangle ‘ die then attach to an A2 card base. (Have to say the ‘Rectangle Die’ is a staple item I can’t do without. The more I use it the more I see it’s value. Anyway, any design embossing folder will work and there are a couple used in the samples. Layer all the pieces with the rose elements popped up with ‘dimensionals.’
The second set of cards uses Press and Seal to hold pieces of the rose design together before die cutting the shape you want on your card.
I cased this technique from Jennifer McGuire who demonstrated it on You Tube and I recommend you watch it to learn how it works. The name of the video is Floating Die Cut Frame. I made some changes to the design to make the cards my own and used Stampin’Up! products. I used Stampin’Blends in soft pink and yellow for the color palette for a spring-like feel. The sentiments are from Both the “Petal Pallet” and “Picture Perfect Birthday Set.’
You’ll have enough design elements for two cards so it is worth the time and effort and you’ll love the results.
Would love to hear from you and hope you take a moment to like this post and share it. If you want to learn more about Stampin’Up! and ways to earn free product or become a demonstrator please send me a message. If you have questions, I have answers.
Once again, have fun and take time to create you own Paper Confections.
Butterflies are so uplifting with a promise of Spring so I just had to get busy and see what I could create.
So many colors to choose from for the first card but landed on shades of ‘Calypso Coral, Light Daffodil Yellow, Light Old Olive and Granny Apple Green.’ So yummy and best part is I got the gorgeous ‘Grapefruit Grove’ foil and ‘Botanical Butterfly’ designer series paper free.. (more about that later.)
I cut the butterflies from the ‘Botanical Butterfly ‘designer series paper and layered two of each butterfly on top of each other. I stamped, cut and colored the small butterflies to match the ones I cut out from the printed designs. You can then lift the wings up a bit to really help those butterflies pop off the card! Put them aside until later in the process.
Start with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 ” piece of ‘Calypso Coral’ cardstock and glue to the front of a ‘Whisper White’ A2 card base (5 1/2 x 4/14″.) Layer up with foil and cardstock. (Cut with the two largest ‘Stitched Rectangles’dies.) Cut a stitched oval from the same designer paper in greens and glue on top of the apple green piece which is embossed with a ‘Basket Weave’ pattern. Add the white dotted strips for a top layer to move your eye through the piece.
Glue down the butterflies and sentiment (non SU) and there you have it.
Wanted to also try two cards with a slight variation on each and went for shades of purple. Used the same ‘Botanical Butterfly’ paper on one and ‘Brusho Colour’ powders on the second one.
Added the ‘Butterfly Beauty’ die cuts. One cut from the’Myths and Magic’ glimmer paper in a sparkly white (the pictures don’t do this justice) and a second die cut in ‘Highland Heather’cardstock. Stacked the two cuts which added so much to the design dimension and love seeing through to the back piece.
Layer it all up and attach the diecuts with a sentiment…and you have a beautiful card made in just about 10 mins. How great is that!
So what do you think? Which one do you like? If you have used any of these items post pix..would love to see your creations. Also, if you like what you are seeing, please like and share with your friends.
All products used are listed below. If you want to learn more about earning products free or how to join SU and get $175 worth of product for $99 during ‘Sale a Bration‘ send me a message and I will be happy to give you the details.
