Free as a Bird

Summer is here and the birds are chirping…inspired me to make a card or two with the ‘Free as a Bird’ stamp set.

On both cards the birds on a branch were fussy cut and colored with ‘Stampin’ Blends’  then popped up with ‘Dimensionals’ on layered backgrounds.

Two designer series papers added texture and dimension to the backgrounds.   Embossed with the ‘Subtle 3D’ folder and die cut background pieces with the ‘Stitched Rectangle’ dies  that gave a finished look to the cards. Ribbon and colored dots were added to complete the cards.

This light and airy card can be made for any occasion.    Love the way the breast of the birds picked up the background paper color.

Attaching a metallic background piece at and angle really focuses your eye on the printed designer paper and birds. You can see a bit of the sheen from the gold foil paper in the first picture above.   Note:  Make sure you stamp the sentiment with ‘StazOn’ ink to avoid smearing.  The ‘Pear Pizzaz’ frame pulls it all together and gives a look-into-the-tree effect.

Thanks for stopping by.   As always, would love to hear your comments and hope you share with other cardmakers.    Product links are listed below.
